Peixe Da Estrada is elaborated by “Viños Do Macizo Ourensan”, the new project from two founding members of the Fedellos do Couto team in Ribera Sacra, Curro Bareño and Jesús Olivares. This red blend can be classified as a village wine as it is produced outside all appellation of origins and it comes from the villages’ vineyards of Viana do Bolo, between Ribera Sacra and Valdeorras on the banks of the Bibei river.

Production:

A blend of a wide range of indigenous varieties, both red and white, from organically farmed old vines of over 60 years in age planted at 600–800 meters in altitude on a mountainous region with granite and schist soils.

Hand harvested, fermented whole cluster with indigenous yeasts, undergoes a gentle maceration lasting two months and matures in 500-litre oak barrels and 3000-litre foudre for 12 months.

Tasting Notes:  Fresh and elegant wine, quite fragrant, displays cassis and berry aromas, floral notes, balsamic. Medium-bodied, juicy, and refreshing on the palate with fine tannins and a long finish.
