THE WINERY

Bodegas Juan Gil is a family-owned winery that dates back to 1916. It was the third generation that managed to consolidate the winery with a reliable, efficient, and good-quality wine image that the present generation is working hard to preserve and further develop.

The wineyards are located northwest of Jumilla and consist of 350 hectares. Of these, 120 hectares surround the winery, and the rest are scattered in smaller parcels, always within the area called "Término de Arriba", a perfect zone for wine growing. This region is located at an altitude of 700–850 metres above sea level, has sandy, chalky, rocky soil on the surface, and is very poor in nutrients. Monastrell is the main variety grown, which is native to Jumilla and perfectly adapted to the climatic conditions in this area, and it is the main protagonist in all the wines produced in the winery.
