With its Brisat del Coster, Mas Foraster revives the traditional method of making white wines in the old days, macerating and fermenting the wine with the skin to extract all the aromas.

The Brisat is 100% Macabeu wine, naturally and organically grown, certified by the CCPAE (Catalan Council of Ecological Production). The grapes are sourced from singularly old vines of more than 50 years in age, coming from the upper part of the Vinya del Coster, in the mountain of Prades, where the soil is shallow with alluvial clay-limestone sediments.

A wine produced at Mas Foraster, a family winery located in the town of Montblanc, in the Conca de Barberà region's. They have been making wines since 1998, and since the beginning, they have been committed to their own organic viticulture and limited productions with a complete control over the vineyard process. All of the grapes are grown on the Mas Foraster estate, farmed organically since 2011 and working with a minimum of sulphites.

Production:

The grapes go through an intense selection process in the vineyard, and those grapes with the most golden skin are selected.

Cold macerated and fermented with the skins for more than 20 days. Spontaneous fermentation for 18 days, combining pigeage and pumping over to favour the extraction of aromas. The wine then rests for six months on its lees and then is bottled by decanting without filtering or sulfite addition.

Tasting Notes: Intense aromas of fresh white fruit combined with citrus and herbaceous notes. Full-bodied and complex, a wine with good ageing potential.
