La Canya is a natural white wine, a blend mostly of Pansa Blanca, from a small vineyard of 1.5 ha with soil composed of granite sand at the Mediterranean Sea; the Godello comes from an experimental parcel in Mas Pelliser that was planted with young vines.

Production: 

Harvested by hand, destemmed, crushed, and pressed, spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts. The wine spends 7 months on its lees in stainless steel tanks. Bottled without clarifying or filtering and without added sulphites.

The wine is sold without any appellation of Origin, and the production is limited to 3051 bottles. SO2: <4 mg/l.

Tasting Notes:

Natural wine unfiltered, pale yellow color showing some cloudiness. Creamy and soft-textured, volume, excellent freshness, floral, and a touch of salinity, with a slight pleasant bitter touch towards the end. Suitable for vegans

THE WINERY

Oriol Artigas is a young vigneron with clear ideas and a firm determination to produce wines that adhere to his philosophy of minimal intervention. He follows the pattern of many young winemakers like himself, who, after having worked elsewhere, return to their own place to start their own project and, with plenty of experience, great talent, and a restless spirit, manage to succeed in creating unique and personal wines.

Oriol returns to his hometown, the small village of Vilassar de Dalt in the Alella region, just a few kilometres north of Barcelona, to the terroir he knows so well and sees great potential for his personal project.

A firm supporter of organic farming, he cultivates the vineyard in the most natural way possible: harvested by hand, spontaneous fermentations with indigenous yeasts, ageing in stainless steel vats, and will never add sulphur. At the Bodega Mas Pellisser, Oriol is making a wide range of wines and still adding more; all of them are honest, straight-forward wines with a marked Mediterranean character.
