After Acústic Celler in Montsant and Ritme Celler in Priorat, Albert Jané, originally of Celler Jané Ventura in Penedès, surprises once again with his latest and most recent personal project. This time, he is back to his origins and delights us with two white wines made 100% from autochthone varieties, of which he is a strong believer.

Gran Autòcton is the big brother, more serious and structured than the Autòcton. It is a white wine, 100% ecologic and made from the older, autochthonous vines that are between 50 and 90 years old. These vines are grown at Finca Mas Vilella, an old, traditional Catalan winery from the XVI century in the Baix Penedés, and at the Alt Camp in the province of Tarragona, vines overlooking the Mediterranean sea from the hills of the majestic Sierra del Montmell.

Partly fermented in French oak barrels and inox, where it spends 8 months, it is a wine of great intensity and character with excellent finesse and fruitiness acquired from the nobleness of the old vines where it comes from.

Tasting Notes: 

Bold and fresh, with good intensity frutal, peaches, mature pineapple, and soft pears; plenty of flavor and displaying a strong Mediterranean character, thyme, lavender, and fennel notes, broad and fine on the palate with good fruit definition and freshness.

 Note: A young white wine that will continue to evolve in bottle during the next few years.
