A dry wine, 100% Palomino, sourced from a solera of 38 butts of very limited production and aged by the traditional method of soleras and criaderas. The term "Pata de Gallina" is used to refer to the most unctuous and glyceric oloroso wines.

Lustau Oloroso "Pata de Gallina" is part of the Artesanos del Jerez Almacenistas range, whose origins date back to the old soleras established by Emilio Lustau in his early days as an almacenista.

"Almacenistas" are independent sherry artisans who have historically produced and aged limited reserves of sherry in their small bodegas. For decades, Lustau has been selecting and bottling small batches of these authentic wines without blending them, just as they are extracted from their original soleras.

"Pata de Gallina" is a dry Oloroso de Jerez aged in the cellar of the almacenista Juan Garcia Jarana. It comes from a collection of the most wonderful Sherry wines that have been ageing for decades in the charming bodega "El Aljibe" in the historic centre of Jerez de la Frontera and counts with more than 100 years of history.

Tasting notes:

This Palomino exclusive dry wine has a deep gold colour and displays complex aromas reminiscent of dried fruits, tobacco, and notes of caramelised peanuts. Concentrated and intense on the palate, with a silky texture. Incredibly long with a deep finish and a slight touch of sweetness lingering.

This wine has been bottled without any kind of treatment, drawn straight from the barrel. It could show some cloudiness or sediments, which is quite natural and in no way will alter the enjoyment of the wine. It is recommended to store the bottle upright.

Notes: Ideal at the end of a meal with a cheese platter; aldo pairs perfectly with red meats, game stews, and roasts.

The story of Emilio Lustau S.A. began way back in 1896 when José Ruiz-Berdejo established the company, giving free rein to his passion for Sherry and resulting in the basis for a family enterprise.

Today is considered to be a world leader in high-quality wines. It offers a wide range of the best quality sherries from Jerez. The range comprises more than forty wines originating from the three towns that make up the Sherry Triangle: Jerez de la Frontera, El Puerto de Santa María, and Sanlúcar de Barrameda. Maintaining its ideas of combining tradition and innovation has carved out the way to identifying Lustau with quality and prestige.
