Production:
Made from a selection of base wines from Macabeu, Xarel.lo, Parellada, and Chardonnay, manually selected from their own best vineyards. Hand-harvested and aged in new French oak barrels for 6 months.
Second fermentation in bottle and remaining on its lees for a minimum of 34 months.
Tasting Notes:
Golden straw colour, with fine, constant bubbles. Scented white fruit, dried herbs, toasted aromas and dried fruits with notes of its ageing in oak. It displays freshness on the palate, smooth and fruity with good acidity and structure, and a long, fresh finish.
CELLER CARLES ANDREU
This is a small family-owned winery whose roots can be traced to 1781. As recorded in the history archives, the family has been dedicated to growing vines ever since the 18th century.
Today the family owns 80 ha of vineyards in the Conca de Barberà, and it is run by Carles Andreu, who in 1991, continuing with the family tradition, established the actual bodega that bears his name in the town of Pira. There, they produce a nice selection of cavas and wines of great quality.
