Production:  Sourced from a selection of the best grapes from vines stocks with an average age of 60 years. The 50 ha. of vineyards are located in different plots around four villages in the Rioja Alavesa: Samaniego, Leza, Elciego and Laguarda. Harvested manually and followed by a careful sorting of the grapes at the winery. The Malolactic fermentacion took place in small stainless steel tanks and 700 ltr French oak, followed by 20 months ageing in new French oak cask. Wine obtained through a system developed by the winery which consist of extraction without oxidation nor friction by means of a water-filled membrade bag. 

Tasting Notes: Intense nose with layers of liquorice, cherries, blackberries, spices with smooth creamy oak notes.  On the palate good concentration of cherry fruit, soft entry showing a silky texture  with some fairly serious tannins but well integrated. Long creamy aftertaste.

Notes: It is recommended to let the wine breathe as it will improve greatly with aeration.  Drinking up to 2032.
