Tasting Notes

Good aromatic intensity of red fruits, floral, and mineral notes. A fresh aromatic, flavour-filled palate, lively style, smooth structure, and a fragrant finish. A stunning value, Priorat!

Note: This is a wine to be enjoyed over the next 2–3 years.

Bodegas y Viñedos de Cal Grau is a family owned winery. The property, located in the heart of the Priorat Region, was purchased in 2003. Their philosophy is to make wines that bring out the true characteristics of the region they originate from, wines that reveal the characteristics of the soil, featuring slate soils, locally called Llicorella, the climate, and their grape varieties.

The Cervera family owns land in several villages, and they are divided into two estates: "La Solana", which has 23 ha of land planted with vines and is located between the towns of el Molar and El Lloar in the southern part of  Priorat at an altitude of 240 meters above sea level. The other estate, "Les Argeles" is located in the town of Porrera, near the natural park of "Serra del Montsant", in the northern area of Priorat, at an average altitude of 420 meters. It consists of an area of 13 ha. under vines. The predominant type of soil is slate, typical of this area, which gives the wines a mineral touch.
