Mas Picosa de Flor en Flor is the first wine from the celler to be organically farmed. Mas Picosa was added to the winery's already extensive range of wines in 2006, when some of the growers chose to practice organic farming, and as a result, Mas Picosa was born.

Production:  

Sourced from different plots in different parts of the valley, at elevations ranging from 150 to 450 meters above the sea level. Vinification of the different grape varieties separately in stainless steel tanks, fermentation at a controlled temperature of 24–28ºC, light filtration, and soft fining. Ageing in stainless steel tanks "sur lie" for 5 months.

Tasting Notes:

Good concentration of aromas, vibrant fruits, spiciness, and a slightly sweet nose. Youthful, smooth oak with spice notes, easy going texture, and a lively, charming style with sweet tannins and a bright, fresh finish.

Notes: To be drunk over the next 2–3 years.

The Winery

Founded in 1933 by five families from the village of Capçanes, who together established a cooperative that would handle large quantities of grapes economically and efficiently. The cooperative bears the name of the village where it is located: Capçanes, a village hidden away in the Priorato hills inland from Tarragona and with a long wine-growing history.
In the 1990s, the company was reinvented as an independent company with its original members as shareholders; today, they have around 130 members and produce a wide selection of high-quality wines, including the well-known Peraj Ha’abib, a Kosher wine, under the Montsant
appellation.
