Miserere, a renowned wine from the prestigious Priorat region, is a blend of several varieties from a single estate, "Miserere", located in Torroja del Priorat, and from which it gets its name. A fine wine with extraordinary power, structure, and complexity produced by Costers del Siurana, a family winery founded in 1974 by Carles Pastrana and Mariona Jarque, one of the pioneers who rediscovered the Priorat.

The winery produces a range of fine wines with excellent ageing potential. All their wines come from their own vineyards situated in the Sierra del Siurana, on steep slopes with poor, stony soils. Their wines have gained international recognition for their quality and complexity.

The wines are produced in the traditional way, adhering to a fixed coupage system that repeats the varieties and percentages of grapes each year, defining the character and personality of each wine according to the characteristics of the climate of each vintage.

Production

Crafted from a blend of carefully selected grapes of five varieties that complement each other perfectly, sourced from old vines planted on the winery's estate in Torroja del Priorat at the banks of the river Siurana, where it is found the finest llicorella of the whole Denonimation of Origen.

The grapes are hand-harvested at their optimum ripeness. Slowy fermented and aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, with a further 9 years in the bottle.

Tasting Notes:

A wine with deep, intense, ripe dark fruits, plums, liquorice, spices, and tobacco. Full-bodied and warm with plenty of grip and deliciously rich, plenty of ripe berry fruit on the palate, plums and liquorice, tannic. Very concentrated yet elegant and structured. Long and lingering finish.

Notes: Drink now or keep for a few more years. A wine with a great capacity for ageing. It is recommended decanting or serving the wine in advance.
