El Marciano is an unoaked natural red wine made by Alfredo Maestro from 100% old Grenache vines in the Sierra de Gredos, Ávila. The vineyards, which are over 70 years old, are located on a hillside facing south at 1150 meters of altitude.
All vineyard work is done by practicing natural agriculture with little intervention. Hand harvested, the grapes are de-stemmed and then macerated for 23 days, after which an alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel deposits with indigenous yeasts. Afterwards, it will rest for 4 months in stainless steel deposits.
Bottled unfiltered and unfined after being naturally stabilized, no added sulfur and suitable for Vegans.
Tasting notes:
Aromatic ripe red fruit, with some spice and mineral accents and floral and Mediterranean herb scents. The palate has a fruity, friendly flow, flavorsome with good fresh acidity, and is nicely supported by well-integrated fine tannins.
