Dara is a Grenache and Carignan blend topped up with 10% Merlot. The grapes come from "Vinya de la Cometa",  a 25-year-old vineyard in the village of Porrera.

Aged in used oak barrels for 9 months (50% French, 50% American) and at least 6 months in bottle. It has not been filtered or clarified.

Tasting Notes: It presents a deep, dark red colour. Rounded and ripe, with red fruit and liquorice. Palate of succulent red fruit, velvety, creamy structure, great balance with lingering spicy fruit, and good acidity.

THE WINERY SANGENIS I VAQUÉ

Since 1978, Pere Sangenís and Conxita Vaqué have been making wines in Porrera, combining tradition with new techniques. Today, their two daughters, María and Núria Sangenís, have also joined the team and, along with Pere, share the responsibility of producing great  wines.

The vineyards are located in the district of Porrera within the Priorat Qualified Designation of Origin, on the family-owned lands dating back to before 1700, on terraced hillsides formed by the famous “llicorella” (slate schist land). The combination of poor land and a dry climate (550 mm) results in minimal production and thus maximum quality.
