Production: 

La Locomotora is a Rioja wine made for the Uvas Felices Project in collaboration with Miguel Ángel de Gregorio of Finca Allende and Finca Nueva

The wine is made from Tempranillo grapes from old vines over 45 years old in the municipality of Briones, La Rioja Alta. Aged for two years in French oak barrels, followed by four years in bottle. 

 

Tasting Notes:

Intense cherry colour. Toasted notes on the nose, mint and tobacco intermixed with aromas of juicy black fruit and spice. On the palate, there are plenty of red fruits, tobacco, and spicy oak, all balanced by the refreshing acidity and polished, well-melted tannins.

Note: Drinking nicely now or in the next decade. It is not necessary to decant.
