Quite is a young wine produced in the village of Valtuille de Abajo on five-hectare organically farmed small plots that are home to 80-year-old Mencía vines. The soil is limestone, with a high percentage of granitic sand.

Production:

Hand-harvested, spontaneous fermentation in large oak vats using natural yeasts and partial whole clusters (30%). Ageing for about 8 months, mostly in oak and partly in amphorae.

Tasting Notes:

Excellent aromatic complexity, with fruit-laden aromas, elegant and light floral touches, lightly toasted notes with a lively minerality, and a refreshing acidity finishing.

Notes: Drinking now and over the next 3-4 years.

Veronica Ortega, originally from Cadiz, belongs to the new generation of young winemakers, perfectionist, enthusiast, talented, and most of all, innovative and restless. With a formidable CV when it comes to winemaking, Veronica can boast of having gained expertise at some of the world’s greatest wineries, including Clos Erasmus and Alvaro Palacios in Priorat, Domaine de la Romanée Conti in Borgone, Domaine Combier in the Rhone, and Niepoort, among others.

Her personal project takes off in 2010 when she relocates to the Bierzo village of Valtuille de Abajo and begins producing her own wines from two very old vineyards of Mencia farmed ecologically. Her wines have proven to be a great success, earning her high recognition among the region's winemakers.
