The second wine from Javier Zaccagnini's most personal project, "Sei Solo", is a Tinto Fino single-varietal wine.

Zacagnini, well known as the co-founder of Bodegas Aalto, started this project in 2007. Later on, in 2015, his own son Michael joined in, and since then both of them have been working together to produce the range of Sei Solo wines from small plots of very low-yielding old vineyards, aged between 60 and 90 years old and situated in the Burgos town of La Horra, within the highly acclaimed wine region of Ribera del Duero.

Production:

Destemmed, cool macerated. Fermented at a controlled temperature in oak and inox. Aged for 18 months in 600-litre French oak barrels.

Bottled in July 2024 without filtering or clarifying.

Tasting Notes:

Elegantly scented nose of ripe fruit, blackberry, and blackcurrant. On the palate, it is fruit-driven, with plenty of berry fruit, subtle oak, spice, smoke, and notes of leather and cocoa. Good depth and fine tannins, finishing long and fresh.
